Human Resource Generalist

Position Overview
We have an immediate opening for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Human Resources Department as a HR Generalist. In this position you will work directly with our Human Resources Manager and accompany all department managers with HR-related duties. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, policy implementation, leave administration, affirmative action, and employment law compliance. This position will focus heavily on benefits administration.

Position Requirements/Tasks
- Administer various human resource plans and procedures for company personnel; assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures
- Participate in developing department goals, objectives and systems
- Monitor the performance evaluation program and revise as necessary
- Handle employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing
- Assist in evaluation of reports, decision and results of department in relation to established goals
- Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of department and services performed
- Maintain human resource information system (ADP) records and compiles reports from database
- Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
Qualifications
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred
- Working knowledge of ADP is highly preferred
- Must be highly organized and adept at proactive thinking and planning
- Must have excellent time management skills and effectively prioritize tasks
- Must be able to work in a close team environment, and must be able to ask for assistance when needed.
- Must possess broad knowledge of most HR functional areas, including compensation, benefits, and employee relations
- Must be discreet, as the HR department handles highly confidential information on a regular basis
