Fiber Tap Plus Cross Connect

FIBER TAP® PLUS CROSS CONNECT

Multilink’s forward thinking Fiber Tap® system has revolutionized the Fiber to the Home (FTTH) implementation process. This system simplifies design, installation, and maintenance of plant for your cutting edge FTTH system. The Fiber Tap® system utilizes the ability to connectorize, splice, split, and distribute in one system. Connectorization can be furnished on most cable styles. This allows for numerous construction types to be accommodated from aerial, duct, or direct burry. Cable midspan / splicing access allows for large or long cable sizes to be utilized. With the capacity to facilitate passive splitting in our Multi-taps you are able to do OSP splitting as a plug and play solution. We utilize multi count OSP connectors for you to take connectorization one layer deeper within your networks. This elevates splicing costs for distribution fiber. Once our system is installed the fully sealed and re-enterable housings facilitate the ease of field installation and maintenance. Our single fiber connectors are field installable for adaptive network changes. Multilink’s Fiber Tap® system creates an ideal FTTH solution for any network.

Applications

Aerial Service

Available in any configuration up to 12 service terminal ports for residential distribution, also allowing pass through network designs. Compact size, comparable to typical line equipment.

Surface/Wall Mounting

Providing fiber solutions to various MDU or single tenant buildings. The Fiber Tap® Plus Cross Connect has a compact size for wall mounting capabilities and can be placed in demarcation areas.

Pedestal Service

Vertical mounting capabilities allow both feeder and distribution drop fibers to enter and exit from a single side of the Fiber Tap® Plus Cross Connect. Compact in size, allowing it to be mounted in 10" wide pedestals.

Vault Service

Similar to dome splice enclosures, the Fiber Tap® Plus Cross Connect allows a one sided entry for both feeder and distribution drop fibers.

Service Ports

12 Port Capacity

The Fiber Tap® Plus Cross Connect can be configured with 6 service ports per side, giving it a total capacity of 12 service ports.

Bulkheads

The Cross Connect was given the ability to utilize either Scout™ bulkheads or Surelight™ IP bulkheads.

Drop Cables

Hardened IP connectors plug into the outside ports of the closure. Drops can be installed quickly, providing quick service to the end user.

Multi-Grommet System

Plug Grommet

A plug grommet is utilized when no entrance or exit cables will be utilized, sealing the closure from outside elements.

Round Cable Grommet

Multilink produces 3 differnt round grommet sizes, all ranging to accommodate cables between .48" diameter to .68" diameter.

Flat Cable Grommet

A flat cable grommet is capable of holding 4 seperate flat cables. Not all have to be utilized as plugs can be provided for unused holes.

Small Round Cable Grommet

The small round cable grommet is designed to house up to 4 3mm round cables. This grommet can be utilized in conjunction with Multilink's SpeedFlex™ fiber cable. Not all have to be utilized as plugs can be provided for unused holes.

Separate Entrance

Encompassing two separate entry ports, the drop fiber installation is located in a separate compartment, ensuring the installer only comes into contact with the drop installation cables.

Fiber Pass Through

4 non captive ports surround the base of the unit, allowing mid span access for up to 144 count fiber runs. Each grommet has the ability to handle various cable sizes.

Splice Tray

The FTP Cross Connect utilizes our 12-SSTP splice tray. The tray utilizes 12 ports and is capable of being double stacked, giving it a 24 fiber splice capacity per tray.

Splice Capacity

The design of the 12-SSTP allows for multiple trays to be stack on top of one another, minimizing space and providing  greater splicing capacities. The FTP Cross Connect has the ability to house up to 3 trays stacked on top of one another, giving it a total splice capacity of 72 fibers.
